A fjord cruise is a perfect way to explore Alta from the seaside, where you can get closer to areas of historical significance and stunning nature in the inner parts of Altafjord.
Little Kvalfjord is a fantastic gem that will undoubtedly give you inner peace amidst magnificent nature, birdsong, and the sound of a babbling brook while the sea lies calm and still.
Here, we are welcomed by hosts Synnøve and Alf Aksel, who will show us around and share stories about growing up in such a place without electricity and running water, with a father mostly away fishing and a mother managing everything at home alone with no other connections to the outside world except by boat.
We will be served a delicious warm lunch/dinner in the boathouse down by the shore, made from local and fresh ingredients, such as fish, whale, lamb, or reindeer, along with drinks. Children will also have the opportunity to fish from the floating dock if desired – we provide the equipment!

About the boat
The boat is 29 feet long and equipped with a life raft, throwable flotation device with a throw line, and life jackets. This boat allows for speed and excitement, with a Mercury engine of 2×250 horsepower. Its cruising speed is 27 knots, with a maximum speed of 49 knots.
