Sorrisniva AS is a year-round experience-based company located on the banks of the Alta River, just outside the center of Alta. The business is built on local traditions and values.
Our Arctic Wilderness Lodge is open year-round, and we operate an Ice Hotel during the winter months. We offer a wide variety of experiences throughout the year. The Lodge has 24 suites, and the Igloo Hotel has 27 rooms. We also have two restaurants, a bar, lounge, SPA department, and meeting rooms.
Sorrisniva is now seeking a Booking Assistant with main responsibility for Weddings and Events.
You will be responsible for booking both small and large events such as baptisms, confirmations, birthdays, conferences, weddings, and other events held with us. You will also be responsible for initiating and marketing new and future packages to our customers.
During periods when no events require your attention, you will work on general tasks in our booking department, alongside your colleagues.
In this role, you will work in a team, within your own department, and in collaboration with other departments. You will respond to various types of inquiries. It is important to provide excellent service and have an eye for upselling. You will handle inquiries from guests via phone and email.

Work Tasks:
- Main responsibility for Sorrisniva’s wedding focus: partner agreements, planning, execution, and marketing of weddings
- Planning and execution of small and large events such as baptisms, confirmations, birthdays, conferences, and other events
- Budgeting and financial oversight of events
- Respond to and follow up on inquiries from customers via phone and email
- Learn pricing lists and understand the experiences and services Sorrisniva offers
- Make bookings in our booking system and with our partners
- Identify follow-up opportunities with guests
- Act as key account manager for various tour operators and agents
- Ensure upselling opportunities
- Quality-assure invoices to customers and partners
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in the tourism industry
- Relevant education is an advantage but not required
- Good IT skills, preferably with booking/reservation systems
- Strong language skills – fluency in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written, is a minimum
